Red Wings and Penguins In Multiple Overtimes
Jun 2nd, 2008 by Shaun Carter
So, I’m STILL up watching the Wings and Penguins Stanley Cup Finals game that has now gone into triple overtime. Both teams are playing well and the goaltending has been absolutely amazing. Nobody is getting an easy goal in this game tonight. If Detroit doesn’t win tonight, then Pittsburgh will force a game 6 with home ice advantage.
I’m not sure how much longer the game will go, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see it go into four overtimes before a winner is declared. However, I am sure that no matter what happens tonight the officiating will be dissected by all the sports commentators for the next couple of days. Several questionable goaltender interference calls were made and a few referee mis-communications caused problems at different times throughout the game as well.
